The football world is about to experience the biggest transformation in its history. The 2026 World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, will break all records for viewership, attendance, and format.

Forget the classic 32-team format that has been with us since France 1998. FIFA has decided to expand the quota to 48 national teams. This means we will go from the usual 64 matches to a football marathon of 104 total matches. An absolute month-long madness that will force the introduction of a new knockout round: the Round of 32.
Legendary Stadiums and New Frontiers
The tournament will be played in 16 host cities. While Canada provides two venues (Toronto and Vancouver) and Mexico three (Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey), the United States takes the lion’s share with 11 cities.
The legendary Azteca Stadium will make history by becoming the first venue to host three World Cup opening matches (1970, 1986, and 2026), while the grand finale will be held at the spectacular MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey.
